Premature bush wear is a common challenge in Hitachi excavators, leading to extended fleet downtime for removal and reinstallation. Responding to industry demand for a more durable solution, Geographe sourced and analysed multiple OEM bush samples to identify areas for improvement. Test results revealed that standard OEM bushes have a minimal hardened layer, reducing their resistance to wear. In comparison, Geographe’s Enhanced Performance™ bushes are manufactured with a significantly deeper effective case depth, offering superior durability and longevity. This increased hardened layer ensures that the bushes continue to perform even if lubrication flow is compromised. Additionally, Geographe applies a greater depth to grease grooving and cross-hatching, increasing grease capacity to better accommodate misalignment and temporary lubrication disruptions caused by grease line damage.
