    Standard OEM suspension pins are prone to seizing, leading to dangerous and time-consuming removal processes. Geographe's Colleted Pin Assembly (CPA) replaces the standard solid pin with an advanced, expandable system that mechanically locks into the housing to prevent fretting, while ensuring a safe, rapid, and cold extraction every time.

    The Challenge: 

    Seized pins are a dangerous liability for your maintenance team.

     On heavy haul trucks, suspension and sway bar pins operate under immense load and are notorious for seizing within the housing due to fretting corrosion. When removal is required, standard mechanical methods often fail, forcing maintenance teams to resort to thermal lancing.

     Geographe has engineered a permanent solution to the seizing problem. The Colleted Pin Assembly (CPA) uses a unique, expandable collet system that replaces the standard solid pin. This design mechanically locks the pin into the housing structure, preventing the micro-movements that lead to seizing and wear.

    Expansion & Locking

    The CPA features split collets that slide over the central pin. As the assembly is tightened, these collets expand outwards, creating a powerful mechanical lock against the housing bore. This eliminates all rotation and fretting.

    Because the pin is locked solid against the bore, there is no metal-on-metal movement between the pin and the housing. This sacrificial collet system absorbs the load, protecting your expensive housing from wear and ovalisation.

    When maintenance is required, the collets are mechanically retracted using the specialised installation tool. This releases the pressure, allowing the pin to be removed easily and safely without heat, hammers, or lancing.
