Enhanced performance design & innovation

Australian-made quality is difficult to surpass.

While many leading brands are now made in developing markets, end users find that quality suffers. Replacement wear parts can be even worse.

Geographe engineers parts to exceed expectations: made for challenging demands and harsh climate conditions.

How long should a ball stud changeout take?

To support miners globally, we designed the Ball Stud Removal Tool (BSRT) – a hydraulic pressing tool for safer and more efficient maintenance, increasing productivity and reducing labour costs.

In field trials, the BSRT released 6 studs in under 20 minutes, with correctly positioned steering arms.

Designed to fit various Caterpillar haul truck fleets, including the 785, 789, and 793 trucks, with a variant for the 777-truck now available for pre-order. Its adaptability ensures compatibility with a range of mining equipment.

How dangerous is thermal lancing?

One of the common hurdles faced by mining operations worldwide is the utilisation of thermal lancing practices to cut through seized components during maintenance.

Thermal lancing introduces hazards such as severe burns, eye injuries, fire risks, and toxic fume emissions, making it a safety concern for mining professionals.

The Geographe Collated Pin Assembly (CPA) incorporates a tapered collet system, creating a self-wedging effect between the pin and frame bores, effectively eliminating pin seizures without the need for thermal lancing.

How does cross-hatching avoid failure?

Responding to requests for a solution to premature wear in standard bushes, Geographe has partnered with global miners to introduce cross-hatching into Enhanced Performance bushes.

Cross-hatching when incorporated with spiral grooving enhances the distribution of lubrication around the bush. The improved lubrication results in extended life on both the bush and the pin.

Geographe applies a greater depth to grease grooving and cross-hatching. The extra grease capacity created allows the pin and bush assembly to cope better with misalignment, or temporary disruption to lubrication if grease line damage occurs.
